WHO IS BEHIND TEXAS MUSIC DAILY?
Texas Music Daily is the brainchild of seasoned industry veterans
Greg Sax and Tami Millspaugh.
Few people know that Greg and Tami have been married for 27 years. They saw the need for a centralized source of news, show prep, and consolidated information about Texas Music which is why Texas Music Daily was born to fill that gap.

Greg Sax, a 2020 inductee of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, began his career in radio before transitioning to work with notable labels such as Atlantic Records Nashville, RCA Records Nashville, Big Machine Records, Virgin Records Nashville, and Show Dog Records Nashville. After an 18-year stint working for Toby Keith, which ended following Keith’s cancer diagnosis and passing, Sax shifted his focus to promoting Texas Music. Sax founded Saxis Music Group in 2023 and has built a roster of successful #1 artists, including Mitch Rossell and Matt Daniel, and has achieved chart-topping Texas hits with Bri Bagwell, Matt Castillo, Jordan Rainer, and Joey Green with more on the way.
Tami Millspaugh started her career at Arista Nashville and worked with Decca Records and Curb-Universal before transitioning to the distribution side. As the Divisional Country Marketing Manager for Universal, she developed a deep appreciation for Texas Music. She promoted artists like Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Pat Green before founding Texas Record Chick Promotions in 2009. Over the past 15 years, Tami has worked with top Texas Music acts, including Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew, Randy Rogers, Aaron Watson, Pat Green, Whiskey Myers, Turnpike Troubadours, Mike Ryan, Kyle Park, Shane Smith and the Saints, Cody Canada and the Departed, William Clark Green, William Beckmann, and Flatland Cavalry, among others and has racked up more than 200 number one singles on the Texas Music Charts.
Bri Bagwell Parody of "Part of Your World"
Bri Bagwell might give Weird Al competition on the parodies of songs. She and Paul Eason wrote a ditty ‘Where the Sugar Daddies Are’ set to the theme of “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. This became her first viral video with over 2M views. Don’t we all want a Sugar Daddy and ‘Where Versace Pockets Run Deep.’ See video HERE.

Hey Mon!: Asleep at the Wheel’s frontman, Ray Benson joined forces with Reggae Producer DOCTOR DREAD For All New Cross-Genre album, Swingin’ And Skankin out now on Tafari Records!
Recorded over two-nights at the renowned Music Works Studio in Kingston, Jamaica with the likes of legendary Jamaican musicians that included drummer Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie), guitarists Dwight Pinkney (The Sharks, Zap Pow, Roots Radics) and Steve Golding (Roots Radics), keyboardist/arranger Robbie Lyn (Now Generation, Sound Dimension) as well as former Wheel and decades-long Bob Dylan bassist Tony Garnier, the group’s goal was to see what happens when the two-step meets the one drop, referring to the dance step associated to Western Swing and the Reggae riddim championed by Bob Marley.
A musical challenge, the results proved to be extraordinary, a true musical mash-up with delightful surprises all along the way. There are a couple of foundational, pre-Reggae Jamaican tunes, two Asleep at the Wheel rave-ups, classic songs associated with Bob Marley, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Bob Wills, and Roy Rogers plus a crucial instrumental to top things off. Along with Benson’s nimble vocals throughout, special musical guests include Willie Nelson, guitarists Warren Haynes and Stanley Jordan, and original Asleep At The Wheel steel guitarist Lucky Oceans and fiddler Katie Shore for good measure."

Eleven Hundred Springs has a new EP coming out on 9/17 called Recorded Live at the Double Wide in Dallas Texas produced by Steven Berg. When Eleven Hundred Springs announced the end of the band’s 23-year run, back in 2021, their favorite rock and roll dive bar, The Double Wide In Dallas Texas, was one of the venues that was immediately booked as a part of a short run of farewell shows. For this show, the parking lot was fenced off, a stage and full production was brought in, and the band delivered one of their finest, most energetic performances to date. Luckily, they recorded it.
This 27-song release, Recorded Live At The Double Wide In Dallas Texas, is not a part of some big promotional push, as (spoiler alert) no reunion shows are going to happen. This is just something that they wanted to share with the friends they have made along the way over the years.

Bling: Corey Kent was surprised onstage with news of the platinum (2x) certification "Wild As Her" by Parker McCollum. Kent also launched a new podcast, Bus Call.
Pass the Buck: Luke Combs passed on Cody Johnson’s #1 hit “Dirt Cheap” and he’s kicking himself for not cutting the song himself.
According to an American Songwriter article, Combs recognized the title after Johnson released it. “I talked about it afterwards, he had some choice words to say about ‘Dirt Cheap,’” said the “Human” singer. “I said, ‘Everything happens for a reason.’”
