🔥 TEXAS MUSIC DAILY HAS YOUR EXCLUSIVE FIRST LISTEN ***NOW*** TO DAVID ADAM BYRNES’ NEW SINGLE “MORE AFRAID OF LIVING”‼️
🎸 “More Afraid Of Living” is what David calls “the best song I’ve ever recorded” and “my favorite song I’ve ever recorded”. It’s an honest song about anyone who has ever lost the person that gave them their reason to live. Lyrically, it’s an honest and deep song. This brand new single is only the second song that was not cowritten by Byrnes but by his first writing mentor Rick Tiger, Mark Howett, and Floyd Callen. “You spend a lifetime searching for a song this powerful,” says Byrnes. “I’m thankful I was one of the first to hear it back when I was 19 at the Fiddle And Steel Guitar Bar and that Rick always told me that this was my song. But I’m most thankful I have the opportunity to record it and hopefully give it the audience it truly deserves”.

🔥 WHO IS BEHIND TEXAS MUSIC DAILY? 🔥
Texas Music Daily is the brainchild of seasoned industry veterans Greg Sax and Tami Millspaugh.
Few people know that Greg and Tami have been married for 27 years. They saw the need for a centralized source of news, show prep, and consolidated information about Texas Music which is why Texas Music Daily was born to fill that gap.
Greg Sax, a 2020 inductee of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, began his career in radio before transitioning to work with notable labels such as Atlantic Records Nashville, RCA Records Nashville, Big Machine Records, Virgin Records Nashville, and Show Dog Records Nashville. After an 18-year stint working for Toby Keith, which ended following Keith’s cancer diagnosis and passing, Sax shifted his focus to promoting Texas Music. Sax founded Saxis Music Group in 2023 and has built a roster of successful #1 artists, including Mitch Rossell and Matt Daniel, and has achieved chart-topping Texas hits with Bri Bagwell, Matt Castillo, Jordan Rainer, and Joey Green with more on the way!
Tami Millspaugh started her career at Arista Nashville and worked with Decca Records and Curb-Universal before transitioning to the distribution side. As the Divisional Country Marketing Manager for Universal, she developed a deep appreciation for Texas Music. She promoted artists like Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and Pat Green before founding Texas Record Chick Promotions in 2009. Over the past 15 years, Tami has worked with top Texas Music acts, including Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew, Randy Rogers, Aaron Watson, Pat Green, Whiskey Myers, Turnpike Troubadours, Mike Ryan, Kyle Park, Shane Smith and the Saints, Cody Canada and the Departed, William Clark Green, William Beckmann, and Flatland Cavalry, among others and has racked up more than 200 number one singles on the Texas Music Charts.
We have a daily email that contains articles and other information, a website as well as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and even Texas Music based playlists on Spotify so go follow us now.

Billie Jo Jones "Some Girls Don't Cry"
is #1!
| |
|
Billie Jo Jones started singing as soon as she could talk. This singer/songwriter is known for blending traditional country music with her own, unique style and attitude.
Born in Dallas, TX, this proud native was destined for stardom from a very early age.
Billie Jo shares, “I was putting on private concerts for my grandparents who raised me in their living room when I was 4-5 years old! They would sit and watch me for hours and clap for me after every song. I would perform a variety of songs from Shania Twain to the Dixie Chicks to Patsy Cline to Ray Price to Loretta Lynn. I have always loved old country.”
She made her public debut at age 9 at her local church, Lake Fork Baptist. From there, the opportunities grew and she began singing at different area churches and local Opry’s close by. Some of her first venues were The Cotton Pickin’ Theatre in Point, TX, The Wylie Opry in Wylie, TX, Gladewater Saturday Night Opry in Gladewater, TX and many others that hold a very special place in her heart.
Billie Jo is one of most loved Texas Country Music favorites. She has shared the stage with artists: Deana Carter, Gene Watson, Linda Davis, Barbara Fairchild, The Oakridge Boys, Diamond Rio, Justin Moore, Wade Bowen, Pat Green, Stoney LaRue, Roger Creager, Sam Riggs, Bryan White, Jerrod Niemann, Josh Abbott, Wade Hayes, Adam Hood, Jason Eady, Courtney Patton, Jamie Lin Wilson, Chris Colston and many others.
A personal highlight, was opening for Ray Price, one of her biggest inspirations and someone she listened to many times with her grandparents over the years.
Billie Jo Jones is being heard all over the world. Her previous single "Right Now Kinda Girl" hit #1 on the Texas Regional Radio Report, 2 weeks in a row on CDX True Indie & several weeks in a row on Texas Internet Radio Chart, along with going Top 40 on Music Row.
The news is spreading fast about this spitfire blonde headed Texan who is resurrecting her favorite style of country music. Hard hitting and truthful lyrics, clever hooks and melodies that will stick in your brain for days.
Her latest single "Some Girls Don't Cry" is the title of her 1st ever full-length country album and has now reached #1 on Texas Regional Radio Report, along with being "retired" from both CDX True Indie and Texas Internet Radio Chart for being #1 for 3 consecutive weeks! At the time of this writing she has earned Top 40 on Music Row and still climbing!
When asked why she chose to sing and play music, Billie Jo replied, “Singing is the only thing I have ever wanted to do. God didn’t give me this voice to just sit at home with it. I believe He gave me this voice and the courage to go out and play shows every weekend. I have always had a heart for people and getting to share my voice and my story through my songs means EVERYTHING to me”.

Jacob Stelly Honors Young Man Each Year
What started out as a dare to Jacob Stelly to perform at a high school graduation turned into a yearly event called Rebel Fest that takes place at Potosi Live in Abilene, Texas.
Hawley High School student, Robert Ybarra, reached out to his favorite singer, Jacob Stelly and asked him to perform at their high school graduation. Stelly said he would if they could reach a set number of responses on Facebook. The Hawley High School community blew that number out of the water and Stelly honored his word and performed.
Tragically, a year after Ybarra graduated, he was killed in a car accident.
In honor of Ybarra, Rebel Fest was born and has grown into a vibrant annual music festival and a student athlete scholarship fundraiser.
Jacob Stelly continues to headline the event in Robert Ybarra’s member. Read full story HERE.

But in other COJO news, the country star is releasing the deluxe edition of Leather this fall. “The deluxe edition of Leather is coming out this fall,” Cody tells ABC Audio. “There’s 13 more tracks, and I personally think that the second half of this album has more potential #1 hits, and it has more sing-along songs and it’s better songs.
