Local Record Stores Across the Country to Host Miranda Lambert Postcards From Texas Listening Events

George Strait’s new album is getting a preview in record stores nationwide on 9/4, and Miranda Lambert’s upcoming release, Postcards from Texas, will also be available for early listening on September 10th, ahead of its official release on September 13th.

In an interview with Cowgirl Magazine Lambert described Postcards from Texas as a tribute to her home state. “Going back to the root and putting a lot of steel guitar on it, a lot of country – a lot of kinds of country – it’s just kind of finding my place again artistically,” she stated.

Listening events for the album will be held at Waterloo Records and End of an Ear in Austin, TX; Volume Music in Spring/The Woodlands/Huntsville, TX; ZT Records in The Woodlands and Frisco, TX; and Cactus Music in Houston. Additional listening events can be found HERE.

Red Dirt Unplugged

Josh Crutchmer, author of the 2020 book Red Dirt, is set to release a new work, Red Dirt Unplugged, on December 13, 2024.

This latest book delves into the global recognition garnered by artists such as Wyatt Flores, Kaitlyn Butts, and Southall.

Crutchmer dedicated a year to following Wyatt Flores, a journey that will also culminate in the release of Flores' new album, Welcome to the Plains, later this year.

Cody Canada wrote the Foreword for Red Dirt Unplugged.

Texas To Tennessee — Music City warmly welcomed Matt Castillo to town last week. Known for his traditional country sound, Castillo's artistic rise is supported by four #1s on the Texas Radio charts and a loyal and growing fanbase filling venues this summer across Texas, California, New Mexico and Arizona, plus European dates that included the Equiblues Western Festival in France. 

Castillo's new album Pushing Borders (July 19, '24) was the topic of conversation as the South Texas native of Mexican heritage visited the Opry, the CMA offices, and his PRO partner BMI, along with several sit-downs with music, trade and TV media outlets. His current single "Pain and Sorrow" is top 40 on the Texas charts.

Castillo capped off his week in Nashville with a sold-out show with Clay Walker at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, TX.

The dates are April 21-26, 2025, at Melody Mountain Ranch in Stephenville, TX.

The lineup will be announced December 2, 2024 and tickets will be available this date as well.
