Membership meeting still happening today
First of all, we hope you are safe and well, and hopefully relatively warm. Your personal well-being and the important work many of you are doing to protect the safety and well-being of others is the first priority.

We have a membership meeting scheduled for this afternoon at 2:00 p.m., and at this time, we are planning to still offer that meeting (via Zoom) to those who would like (and are able) to participate. The meeting will be a bit more abbreviated than usual, given the circumstances.

Admittedly, this is not the most ideal date for a meeting. So we are offering synchronous and asynchronous remote options. Following the meeting, we will send everyone a link so you can watch it later, when we're hopefully on the other side of this crisis.

If you want to tune in today at 2 p.m. for the update and to ask your questions, make sure you register to attend via the link below (or if you've already done that, then use the information you received to join us.). Finally, if you registered and can't find that info, drop a line to Christy@txsc.org and she will send your personalized info.
What we're expecting in the days ahead
The Texas House and Texas Senate both stand adjourned until Friday, February 19.

The House Appropriations Committee and Senate Finance Committee hearings scheduled for this week have all been cancelled. They will resume meeting on Monday, February 22, but it is unclear at this time if the topics scheduled for that day (public education) will be heard as planned or if they will keep to the previous order of subject matters before the cancellations.
Thank you to our annual sponsors!
