Texas Whiskey Association Asks Gov. to Waive DtC Restrictions
The Texas Whiskey Association announced the expansion of its #StillStrongTX Campaign supporting Texas distillers in producing and distributing hand sanitizer during the COVID-19 crisis. The association is asking Texas Governor Greg Abbott to use his authority to waive certain direct-to-consumer sales restrictions imposed uniquely on operators with Texas Distillers & Rectifiers permits. The USBG National Charity Foundation recently announced that the dollars distributed for grants under the Bartender Emergency Assistance Program’s COVID-19 Relief Campaign have more than tripled since the first funds were sent out and that its team of more than 500 volunteers has logged more than 10,000 hours screening applications. Bar Convent Brooklyn Announces Virtual Learning
As the world adapts to the “new normal,” the organizers of Bar Convent Brooklyn (BCB) want to continue to bring you virtual educational content. As we previously reported, BCB has been postponed from June to August 11-12. St. Louis Breweries Collaborating with Local Distillery on Charity Whiskey
Several St. Louis area breweries and a new whiskey distillery are teaming up to help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ve designed a limited-edition Common Bond whiskey that uses beer brewing ingredients to create a single malt whiskey that will be aged for one year in Missouri oak barrels. (KSDK)
