Texas is full of energy!

Texas is full of energy. Houston, the energy capital of the world, hosted Superbowl LI on February the 5th in the NRG stadium. All eyes in the States were on Houston and after a dazzling week prior to The Big Game, the city expects up to $350 million in total revenue, next to the huge promotion of the city on national television, reaching 111.3 million spectators. So, a well-deserved featured item on Houston. In this newsletter we would also like to introduce our partner in Houston, the NACCTX. We have 2 very interesting new items in the trading post and a very successful start-up story from Austin.Texas is not only full of the traditional oil & gas industry, renewable energy as a top sector is booming. Last but not least, 2017 will be a very energetic year for the NBSO-Texas. We had a very successful start with the New Year's Reception. In March we will organize a trade mission on the logistics of plastic resins, read all about it in our last item and sign up to join!
News from the office
There is a very vivid, well developed business support system in Texas. Next to two honorary consuls and the NBSO, the Dutch-American business community is represented by the Netherlands-American Chamber of Commerce (NACCTX). The NACCTX is well positioned to introduce newcomers to the business community in Houston and provide them with immediate access to a high-level business network and services.
NBSO's Trading Post

A trading post was an establishment where the trading of goods and the exchange of information took place.The trading post of the NBSO serves the same purpose; connecting the Dutch in their demand and supply, knowledge sharing and the exchange of news and advice. Today on NBSO's trading post: Slimstock is looking for wholesalers and production companies in Texas interested in their innovative software solution for inventory optimization. There is also a very interesting job opportunity for Dutch-English bilingual speakers in Austin.

NBSO Active: New Years Event
The full representation of the Dutch economic network in Texas, the Honorary Consuls, the NBSO and NACCTX, hosted their New Year’s Reception, on the 17th of January 2017, at The Houston Club. We are happy that both familiar and new faces joined us in celebrating the start of a new promising year.

From March 20-22 2017, the NBSO is organizing a trade mission on the logistics of plastic resins. The enormous production of these resins result in big opportunities for Dutch companies who wants to partner in packaging, chemical warehousing and 3PL in Houston.
