Mike's Message

The holidays are behind us and I hope you all had a great end to 2014 - we certainly did at Texas811!

The numbers are in, and we fielded over two and a half million inbound ticket requests in 2014.   Two and a half million! Our ombudsmen brought in over 100 new members to the Texas811 family. We've added more agents as well as media and marketing staff.  The Texas811 Swag'n Wagon logged miles all over Texas, providing good eats, swag and the message of damage prevention. And our Damage Prevention Managers never got a moment's rest between monthly meetings of Damage Prevention Councils as well as the big shows of Damage Prevention Days. We even hit the rails at The Trains at Northpark in Dallas with two Texas811 cabooses carrying our message in English and Spanish.

 New at the Contact Center

The Ride Along program is going strong. Agents are going out into the field with locators, to see what happens when the ticket they've written is handed off.   Also adding to the learning experience are they Texas811 "Dig Talks."     The event is patterned after the famous "TED Talks" and the first meeting played to a packed house!   The floor is open for ANYONE to speak on a learning topic.

A blood drive netted 25 units of blood (that presumably may help the recipients of those units practice the terrific Texas811 telephone courtesy).

Finally, there are over 110 agents on teams now, with another 30 plus in training.

 Communications

The communications team began 2015 with the last few days of The Trains at Northpark exhibit. A pair of red cabooses, one carrying our message in English, the other in Spanish, alternated track time.   The exhibit at Northpark Mall in Dallas was seen by an estimated 80,000 people.  If you missed seeing them, both cabooses are now residing inside our display case in the lobby.

Texas811 authored an article in the Greater Houston Homebuilder's magazine and Southwest Farm Press for January, and had another accepted by Garden Railways magazine for a later publication date. Here are links to two of them:

Texas811 has begun its partnership with RotoRooter, the national number one name in plumbing and drain services.   Texas811 stickers and material will be visible on RotoRooter equipment in Texas, and we will be carrying their logo as well.

Rapid Membership Growth Has Its Demands

Texas811. We are proud to announce that we not only met our goal of obtaining 50 new facility operator members this year, but we doubled it! We finished 2014 with a total of 108 new members in the state of Texas. That is a pure testament to the outstanding service that everyone here at Texas811 provides. Our members are well aware of our unmatched service level and all of the value that is included in your membership. They understand that we just aren't some ticket service that pumps out tickets and collects on invoices, but rather we see ourselves as an all-encompassing damage prevention program here to service the many needs of our members.

The 18th Annual
