Bristol, R.I. – Coggeshall Farm Museum will celebrate Textile Weekend on Saturday, Aug. 28 and Sunday, Aug. 29. The event will feature costumed historians from Coggeshall Farm and Old Sturbridge Village demonstrating the process of making historic clothing from start to finish. Guests will see historic wool picking and carding, dying, spinning, weaving and sewing.
Textile weekend is the second in a series of themed programming at the Farm. Other theme weekends included an Arts and Music Weekend earlier this month and the upcoming Agriculture (September 4-5) and Trades and Crafts (September 18-19) Weekends.
Textile Weekend activities, a sheep craft and a take-home loom kit, are included with Standard Daytime Admission, or membership to Coggeshall Farm or Old Sturbridge Village. In August, up to three kids age 17 and younger are admitted FREE to the Farm when accompanied by an adult paying full admission. More information is available and tickets can be purchased online at: https://www.coggeshallfarm.org/event/textile-weekend/.
