Thali New Haven Closes After 11 Years
Despite Kitchen fame and rave reviews, Thali in New Haven will shut its doors September 30th.

September 19, 2017 [New Haven, CT] - Celebrated Chef Prasad Chirnomula, of Five Star Restaurant Group [Thali, Thali Too, Oaxaca, INDIA New Canaan and INDIA West Hartford], has announced that he will close his famed Thali Restaurant in New Haven on September 30,, 2017.
 
Despite having received rave reviews from multiple media sources, including an "Excellent" by The New York Times, and coveted as "best Indian Chef in America", by David Rosengarten - author of the popular newsletter "The Rosengarten Report" - Thali restaurant will officially close its doors to the public after a decade of serving the Greater New Haven area.
 
"There are so many restaurants and just not enough people," says Chef Prasad Chirnomula.  "We had a really good run in New Haven and I am proud and honored to have worked alongside some of the very best in the industry.  We will miss our loyal patrons, the staff, and our neighbors, and we are thankful to Yale and our community for all of the support over the years.  We look forward to serving the community in the future at our sister locations of Thali Too and Oaxaca Kitchen."

About Me:
Chef Prasad is a celebrated chef and owner of Five Star Restaurant Group [Thali, Thali Too, Oaxaca, and INDIA Restaurants.  In addition to running his five restaurants, Chef Prasad leads tasting tours of India, hosts private tasting dinners, teaches cooking classes and offers his services at multiple charity events for such groups as the American Liver Foundation, Varli, James Beard House, the American Red Cross, Share Our Strength, the Connecticut Food Bank and the Food Bank for New York City.  He was a celebrity guest chef at Foxwoods Food & Wine Festival to benefit Johnson & Wales University.
