Dear KIPP Families,
Thank you
to all of our KIPP Team and Family who have stood up this year to advocate on behalf of our KIPPsters for
better facilities
,
more funding
for all of Maryland's public schools, and for our
new home at Walbrook.
This year, our Team and Family effectively engaged both internal and external stakeholders to advocate on behalf of our students and public charter schools. As a result of the advocacy of so many people and organizations who care about public education, the legislature passed the Blueprint for Education bill based on the Kirwan Commission recommendations, which will provide more than $600 million more for education over the next two years. We are currently working with Baltimore City Schools to determine how this will positively impact our schools and KIPPsters. Second, due to KIPP's and the charter school community's advocacy, the legislature established a work group that will look at the inequity in funding for public charter school facilities. This is a great first step to addressing this issue.

Dear INSERT LEGISLATOR'S NAME,
On behalf of KIPP Baltimore and our 1,500 students and their families, I would like to thank you for your support during the 2019 legislative session and for your work to address the inequity in facilities funding for public charter schools.
Through your leadership, the legislature created a Joint Legislative Workgroup on Public Charter School Facilities "to study and make recommendations regarding the provision of State funding for public charter school facility expenses" December 1, 2019." Thank you for making this happen!
Again, thank you for your support of our KIPPsters and families. We look forward to continuing to work with you in the coming year to ensure
equitable funding for facilities for all public school students.
Sincerely,
X
