Dear Competitor,
What a weekend it was! We had much to be grateful for in 2025. It was a good year, thanks to you, our competitors, who filled nearly every race group at Historic Festival 43. A reflection of this is that we had drivers from 32 states, 24 came from California, not including the Ragtime Racers. Many people (spectators, fans, participants, sponsors, vendors, employees and volunteers) told us this was the best year ever!
We kicked off the weekend with the Parade, a 17-mile tour through local towns ending with a street fair in nearby Falls Village. For those of you who had the opportunity to participate in the Parade, thank-you. For those of you who were spectators and spent some time in Falls Village, thank-you too… If you tried to enter, and were turned down, please try again next year. We have your name and will try to make this “more fair” next year.
We ran our normal race groups, plus the Del Monte Trophy Group, which we added to our War Era class. For the second year we ran World Challenge and expect to see this group continue to grow. We welcomed Triumph, running The Kastner Cup, and Ragtime Racers who ran exhibition laps during lunchtime. For those of you that were fortunate to “ride-along” in these magnificent vehicles, what a treat.
Rob Dyson, our Grand Marshall, was terrific participating in many of the weekend’s activities. Thank-you Rob.
Many of you told us that the panel at Friday Evening’s Competitor Party, led by Mike Joy and David Hobbs, with Bob Varsha, was one of the highlights of the weekend and “another best!” Thank-you gentlemen.
We had a full paddock which included the Ragtime Racers and the Del Monte Trophy Group. The paddock displays were stepped up and included cars from Rob Dyson and Ernie Boch’s Collections. The end result was, I believe, that we have recaptured our traditional position as second only to Monterey Historics. Thank you for being a part of this.
We couldn't have this without the support of VRG's Paul King and Steve Hyatt, who were instrumental in the planning process, the VSCCA for their Paddock Tours and insistence on keeping all of us bound to tradition, to Peter Bormann who assured the safety of some 275 vintage vehicles, and to the staff and volunteers of Lime Rock Park. Particular thanks to Dorsey Schroeder…
We are looking forward to 2026 and our plans are really coming along. Alfa will be the featured marque, Historic Trans Am & Formula Junior will be featured race groups.
We hope to see you all again next year.
