New Advancement Director Joins the SFH Team!

We are thrilled to share that Pamela Zielske has joined the Sunflower Hill Team as our new Advancement Director!

Pamela Zielske has over 15 years of experience working as an advocate on behalf of nonprofit organizations and vulnerable populations. She began her career as a Legal Aid attorney, representing victims of domestic violence and low-income clients in Social Security disability cases. Ms. Zielske was most recently employed as the Advocacy Manager for the California Association of Museums where she grew and oversaw the organization's robust statewide advocacy program. She is passionate about cultivating partnerships and working collaboratively with diverse teams to build coalitions and develop effective strategies.
As a dedicated volunteer, Ms. Zielske has been a board member of a variety of nonprofit organizations throughout her career. She is a founder and current board member of Friends of Joe Michell School, a nonprofit education foundation designed to serve the community and fundraising needs of a local International Baccalaureate school.

Pamela is excited to be part of the Sunflower Hill team and we hope you will join us in welcoming her!

Huff Construction Chosen for Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch
We are pleased to announce that Huff Construction has been selected as the general contractor for Sunflower Hill at Irby Ranch. 

Huff Construction, based out of Modesto, considers themselves first and foremost to be builders. For more than 45 years, they have remained true to their mission of providing personalized commercial construction services built on quality, timeliness, and integrity. The ways in which they deliver their projects are diverse and customized to meet the needs of their customer base. They are committed to building commercial projects of outstanding quality and value. They call this "Huff Building Excellence."

If you are looking for an opportunity to be part of this exciting project and are interested in submitting a subcontracting bid to Huff construction, please contact Gary Huff at or Larry Nelson at  Huff will be releasing their bid-package with the selected subcontractors for the project in the coming weeks. 

Pleasanton Weekly Holiday Fund

We are very pleased to announce that Sunflower Hill will be a recipient of the Pleasanton Weekly's 2018 Holiday Fund! We are incredibly grateful to be a recipient again this year and honored to be included alongside the other valuable nonprofits that continue do much needed work in our community. More information on how to donate to this year's PW Holiday Fund can be found here as well as in upcoming issues of the  Pleasanton Weekly, and on our  Facebook Page.

In keeping with the holiday spirit of giving,  Pleasanton Weekly  also ran this article alerting readers to the wish lists for local nonprofits. Thank you to the PW for continuing to support Sunflower Hill and our local nonprofit colleagues in every way that they can!

Available Volunteer hours during those weeks:
December 18, 20 & 21: 9 a.m. - Noon
January 5, 8, 10 & 11: 9 a.m. - Noon
Regular weekly volunteer hours will resume with programs on Tuesday, January 15
