A Huge Thank You!

Thank you to our membership, volunteers,

fair employees and the community for

a very successful year of fundraising on behalf of

our beautiful Nevada County Fairgrounds.

The Foundation, its members and volunteers worked

(and had fun) at several events during 2023:

the Crab/Shrimp/Pasta Feed, Strawberry Music Festival,

the Nevada County Fair, the Draft Horse Classic

and the Country Christmas Faire.

Join Us for the 12th Annual

All-You-Can-Eat

Crab • Shrimp • Pasta Feed

The Foundation is excited to host our first fundraiser for 2024,

our 12th Annual All-You-Can-Eat Crab/Shrimp/Pasta Feed

slated for March 2, 2024. We expect the dinner to be sold out like previous years. Tickets for the event will go on sale in mid January 2024. Doors will open at 5pm, and dinner service begins at 6pm. Before dinner, appetizers will be served in the lounge.

The dinner also offers a live and silent auction in addition to a dessert auction of wonderful delicacies.

Foundation volunteers will prepare a delicious meal. Dinner includes antipasto skewers, all-you-can-eat crab, shrimp, pasta, Caesar salad and garlic bread. A no host bar will be available.

Seating is Limited! Don’t Dilly Dally!

If you wish to attend, seating is limited. Ticket prices are $70 per person; Table of 8 will cost $650.00 which includes 2 bottles of wine, either red or white.

Proceeds of the event will benefit the Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation and its mission of supporting and improving the community’s beautiful Fairgrounds and supporting our youth in agriculture.

Why the Foundation was Created

The Nevada County Fair has been a part of the fabric of our county for well over a century. It is one of Nevada County’s treasured institutions. When you think of the Fair, perhaps you think of our youth with their animals lining the barns and at auction, or the local non-profits and their delicious food, or the amazing exhibits showcasing the talents of our wonderful community. The Nevada County Fair has been the place for families, reunions, fun and education for many generations.

You may be surprised to learn that the Nevada County Fairgrounds is a state agency, namely the 17th District Agricultural Association, with directors appointed by the Governor of California. For decades the Fairgrounds received annual allocations from the state for the purpose of performing capital improvements and providing operation funds. In recent years state allocations have dwindled to almost nothing, and no state resources or aid came to the Fairgrounds during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Foundation (because of you!) was able to help support the Fairgrounds during the closure — not for operating capital, but to ensure our Fairgrounds stayed beautiful and resilient.

The Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation, a non-profit 501.c.3, was created years ago in anticipation of a potential funding crisis. The Foundation has successfully raised significate funds (thanks to you) through the Foundation Station selling beer and wine during the Fair, the Draft Horse Classic and the Country Christmas Faire. The annual Crab/Shrimp/Pasta Feed (formerly the Cioppino Feed) is also a major fundraiser. Other highly valued and appreciated revenue comes from our membership and donations.

Our mission is, "Building a better Nevada County Fairgrounds through fundraising and contributions to the Fairgrounds."

On behalf of the Nevada County Fairgrounds Foundation Board We Wish You All

Merry Christmas

and Happy New Year!
