Thank You for Attending the 2023 FAFP Winter Summit

Thank you to all attendees of the 2023 FAFP Hybrid Family Medicine Winter Summit, hosted from December 8-10 at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island! We had over 800 attendees, and whether you participated in-person or virtually, we hope that the learning experience was as enjoyable & worthwhile for you as it was for the FAFP leadership & staff.

More than 450 attendees have claimed CME credits, and these credits have been sent to the AAFP and CEBroker on December 12, 2023. Please do not report your credits to AAFP/CEBroker as this delays the process of proper reporting to the state. While these credits have been sent, please allow 7 business days for them to properly be reported in both your AAFP and CEBroker accounts.

As a reminder, please claim your CME credits by completing and submitting your evaluation no later than December 29, 2023. If you would like your CME credits reported to AAFP and CE Broker before the end of 2023, make sure you submit your evaluation and credit claim no later than Friday, December 22, 2023.

The Florida Academy Launches FAFP Hall of Fame

The Florida Academy launched the FAFP Hall of Fame with its first inductee, Dr. Dan Van Durme.

The Florida Academy of Family Physicians (FAFP or Academy) Hall of Fame (HoF) was established in 2023 as a way to recognize any current or former FAFP member or non-physician affiliated with the FAFP who has had an indelible impact on the Academy and the specialty of family medicine throughout Florida. Caring 4 Communities

The FAFP’s “Caring 4 Communities” (C4C) project visited America's Youth Inc. (located in Fernandina Beach) on Saturday, December 9, during the FAFP 2023 Winter Summit in Amelia Island. The FAFP helped with painting and landscaping for the center while also hanging out with over 35 kids. FAFP’s resident and student membership led a basic first-aid workshop to help inspire kids and show how it's fun to take care of others. The FAFP is excited about where the future of the C4C will grow in the years to come!
