Decade of success, thanks to you
Now celebrating 10 years with Opportunity Partners, Yohan is amazed with how far he’s come. “It feels awesome,” he said. “I’ve matured a lot since 2009.” OP helped Yohan land a stocking position at Driskill’s Downtown Market in Hopkins. “I like working there,” he said. “I like the people I work with and that I’m always moving.”

Yohan is developing strong customer service skills, including helping people find products and shelving items in the proper location. He credits Opportunity Partners for teaching him the necessary skills and the importance of a strong work ethic. “Staff helped me to push myself,” he said. “I’ve learned that it’s important to have ambition.”

Your support creates strong futures for people, including Yohan!

Little Free Library discovery
December 7 marks the 78th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. We were transported back in time last summer when Jim Williams, who has been served by OP for 46 years, looked inside the Little Free Library in his Robbinsdale neighborhood. There he found a book about Pearl Harbor and a souvenir reprint  of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin from December 7, 1941. The paper appears to have been printed in the late 1970s. Jim knew it was significant, and he brought it to Opportunity Partners to show his enrichment class instructor. We aren't sure who left the book and newspaper in the Little Free Library, but Jim has appreciated learning and sharing more about history through his discovery.
Listen to Minnesota Public Radio
As we near the end of the year, Opportunity Partners will be running spots on Minnesota Public Radio that invite listeners to make a difference this holiday season. Listen in during the month of December and early January for our promotions!
