Dear Volunteers and Friends,
Village Harvest is taking a brief break for the holidays, and I want to share some of what our community has accomplished together this year. But mostly I want to say "thank you."
I hope you were able to join a harvest this year and enjoyed the simple pleasures of being outdoors in scenic places, and had fun while doing good.
In 2025 volunteers picked more than 173,000 pounds of fruit for local food banks, and as many as 50,000 people received fruit through our efforts together. Every orange, apple, persimmon, or other piece of fruit was hand-picked by one of you and helped someone who needed healthy food.
But while the fruit is the easiest-to-see aspect of what we do, the essence of Village Harvest is people coming together – a community who share their time, their talents, and their spirit to make the world a better place for all.
Thank you for being part of Village Harvest. As our administrator and volunteer coordinator Tracy Mitchell summed it up - "We have the BEST volunteers!"
With gratitude, and best wishes for the holiday season.
