Values in Action: Collaboration Shines at
Winter Connect 2025

Our Winter Connect event showcased the power of collaboration as we brought together community-based organizations to provide vital resources to individuals facing housing insecurity and those who are currently unsheltered on the SPA 1 Youth Homeless Count Blitz Day. This collective effort not only strengthened our partnerships but also reinforced our commitment to supporting those in need. Through teamwork and shared dedication, we made a meaningful impact - one that will continue to drive our mission forward.
A huge thank you to Six Flags Magic Mountain & Hurricane Harbor, Knott's Berry Farm, and Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier for generously donating theme park tickets for our attendee raffle. We also extend our gratitude to Chick-Fil-A Palmdale for providing 75 meal cards, our Youth Action Board for donating 25 gift cards, the community-based organizations that contributed additional raffle prizes, and Tacos El Afro for serving delicious hotdogs during the event. Your generosity helped make this event even more special, and we are grateful for your support in uplifting our community!

Our organization began as a domestic violence shelter, providing a safe haven for individuals in crisis. From the start, we recognized that domestic violence affects people of all backgrounds, and we worked to create a space that was inclusive of all survivors, including men and members of the LGBTQIA+ community - at a time when shelters primarily served women.
While our programs have expanded over the years to provide housing support, advocacy, and essential resources, our commitment to safety, inclusivity, and empowerment remains at the core of our mission. As we launch our first agency newsletter, we reflect on our history and the foundation that continues to guide our work today.

At Valley Oasis, we are passionately devoted to uplifting individuals and families impacted by trauma, offering a comprehensive array of programs that are meticulously designed to address their unique challenges. Our extensive services—including domestic violence shelter, transitional housing, case management, sexual assault response services, counseling, advocacy, and educational workshops—serve not just as resources, but as essential lifelines that empower our clients and guide them toward achieving stability and self-sufficiency.
Additionally, we provide unwavering support to survivors of sexual assault through our Sexual Assault Response Services (S.A.R.S), which offers a rape crisis center. Our Forensics Services Unit operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring that advocacy and assistance are always available for those in need. We understand the profound impact of sexual violence and are committed to fostering healing and empowerment for survivors, offering compassionate care at every step of their journey.

Many individuals facing housing insecurity have loyal animal companions, and our outreach teams provides food, supplies, and support to ensure they are cared for. We also help connect homeless pets with loving foster and permanent homes, giving them a second chance at stability. | |

Partner Spotlight: Champion for Youth Count | | | |

Penny Lane Antelope Valley TAY Drop-in Center has been a vital partner in our efforts to support youth experiencing housing insecurity, playing a key role in the success of this year's Youth Homeless Count. Their commitment to collaboration and community impact was evident once again as they connected us with Chick-Fil-A Palmdale, securing 75 meal cards that were distributed to attendees at Winter Connect and helped conduct phone surveys as an Access Center during the last ten days in February.
Beyond this generous contribution, Penny Lane Centers continues to be a trusted ally in our shared mission to uplift and empower young people. We are grateful for their dedication and look forward to create lasting change in the lives of those we serve.
