Vicar Aaron's Message

In this week’s gospel story, Jesus heals a man with a huge number of “unclean spirits” – then those spirits enter pigs and jump off a cliff! What on earth does this mean? We will imagine this story from new perspectives in worship but, for now, know that Jesus noticed the troubled man and healed him!

God our healer, we rejoice in Your grace and mercy. Notice our unclean spirits that cause disunion and unwellness, and heal us in order that we might be whole. Amen.

What are those “unclean spirits” that Jesus casts out?

Ash Wednesday Worship services will be held February 14 at 1PM and 7PM.

Sharai Jacob will be ordained at a worship service held at 3PM on February 11 at Epiphany Lutheran Church (314 Vallette Street, Elmhurst). Ordination services are hosted by the Metro Chicago Synod of the ELCA and include multiple candidates for ministry. All are welcome to attend and celebrate with soon-to-be Pastor Sharai Jacob! Unable to attend? Cards/gifts may be dropped off at GLC by 2/11 and they will be taken by the GLC contigent.
