Hello!
Let’s call it what it was.
Monday was the cost of doing Sunday correctly.
You may still be finding buffalo wing sauce under your fingernails.
Your stomach is sending you very direct, legally binding feedback about the chili.
And you are fairly confident you personally moved the needle on the national avocado supply.
For context, on Super Bowl weekend, Americans eat:
Roughly 140 million pounds of avocados.
Around 1.4 billion chicken wings.
About 12 million pizzas.
So if you’re asking yourself, “Why do I feel like this?”
You did your part and thank you for your service.
Now add in a few extra drinks.
A late night.
Maybe you're celebrating your team won, or drowning your sorrows that it didn’t.
Maybe that your winning square turned into a charitable donation.
Monday was never going to be productive. That was not on the table.
And honestly…that’s totally cool.
Hopefully you were with friends.
Hopefully you laughed.
Hopefully it was worth it.
That foggy, sluggish, slightly regret adjacent feeling
it’s not a failure.
It’s just the bill coming due.
Monday didn’t count.
But now it’s Tuesday.
And this is the part where we stop negotiating with the couch and gently take care of the body we actually live in.
No need to punish it.
No need to “make up for” anything.
No need to swear off pizza forever and mean it for four hours.
Just move again.
Because a little smart movement goes a long way toward clearing the head settling the system and reminding your body that it still knows how this works.
Quick side note before we wrap this up. This is a fully acknowledged shameless plug.
We are running a Glenview Love Local giveaway on our Instagram feed @theedgesport.
Yes, we are promoting it.
But also, it is $1,800 worth of local goodness, including a free month of training at The Edge. Hard to argue with that.
Anyway. Back to you....
That’s what we do here.
Help active adults become the most athletic version of themselves, again…without pretending real life doesn’t exist.
So if Monday was a wash, that’s okay.
Tuesday counts too.
Mark
