Thank You For Your Support!
As someone who has been a caregiver for a loved one who had Alzheimer’s disease, I cannot tell you how grateful I am for an organization like Alzheimer’s New Jersey and, how inspired I am by the generous support of Alzheimer New Jersey donors, walkers, volunteers, community partners and other friends.

We are all united by a common goal to improve the quality of life for New Jersey families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. And together we are doing just that. With every family story shared, and every dollar donated to Alzheimer’s New Jersey, another family, devastated by this terrible disease will be helped, learning how to live with Alzheimer’s the best way possible.

As one of your New Year’s resolutions, I invite you to learn more about how Alzheimer’s New Jersey works to improve the lives of New Jersey families.

You will see and feel the positive impact of your support.

It has been said that “Giving is not just about making a donation: it’s about making a difference!”

Thank you for joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. You are making a difference!
On behalf of the Board of Directors and families we serve….

Happy New Year!

Lenny the "Dementia Friendly Barber"
Partners with ALZNJ
Old-time Irish barber, Lenny White, provides free haircuts to those with dementia
Lenny White of Northern Ireland visited with Alzheimer's New Jersey again this year; offering his dementia-friendly pop-up barber shop services. With a healthy dose of friendly banter in his classy Irish brogue, Lenny stimulates memories through the sights, sounds, and smells of bygone days in an old-fashioned barber shop with the likes of Old Spice and Brut. He brings kindness and fun and gives his "clients" something that is very special.

Daytime Napping, Restless Sleep
Could Indicate Problems in the Brain
Alzheimer's New Jersey is proud to partner with Being Patient to bring you the following research update. Being Patient is an editorially independent news site covering the latest research on Alzheimer's disease.
According to a recent study by Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, missing out on deep sleep has been linked to an increased risk for Alzheimer's disease.

People who experienced less deep sleep had more of the proteins associated with Alzheimer's disease in their brains. Trouble sleeping could be a very early warning sign for cognitive problems in older adults.
