Project Harmony's

30th Anniversary Gala

Thank You!

Many thanks to all who have supported our upcoming Gala, Lift the Light, on November 6. We are sold out!

This milestone event would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, leaders and volunteers. And every person who has helped make Project Harmony a place where healing begins over the past three decades.

Watch a special thank you from our Event Chairs – Chaley and Eric Chandler, Nikki Boulay and Dave Cripe, Stephanie and Robb Pantano, and Haley and Jamie Walker.

Here's to 30 years of lifting the light for children and families and to all that we will illuminate together in the years ahead.

2027 Kids First Award Nominations

Submissions Closing on November 6, 2026

Project Harmony is still taking nominations for the Kids First Award. This annual award is designed to honor and recognize an individual or group that has made significant contributions to the well-being of abused and neglected children and/or children at risk for abuse or neglect.

The 2027 recipients will be recognized at the Project Harmony’s Speaking of Children Luncheon on Thursday April 29, 2027, at Embassy Suites Omaha – La Vista Hotel & Conference Center. This event will include a 2-day conference providing training and educational opportunities for professionals responding to children in need.

Take a few moments to think of someone you would like to recognize for his/her efforts on behalf of children. This award has become a special way for the partner agencies, Project Harmony Board of Directors, staff and the community-at-large to honor and say "Thank You" to an individual or group on an annual basis. Be sure to get your submissions in before the nomination forms close on November 6, 2026.

The Gift That Continues

to Protect Children

Project Harmony Legacy Society

This Thanksgiving season, we're grateful for the people who make Project Harmony's work possible, including a growing group of supporters who have chosen to include Project Harmony in their long-term plans.

The Project Harmony Legacy Society recognizes individuals and families who have made a planned gift, such as a bequest in a will, a beneficiary designation or a charitable trust. These gifts don't require writing a large check today. Instead, they allow donors to make a meaningful commitment that will protect children and strengthen families for years to come.

Joining the Project Harmony Legacy Society is simple. If you've already included Project Harmony in your plans, let us know so we can thank you and welcome you. If you're considering it, we'd be honored to talk with you, with no pressure and no obligation.

As you gather with your loved ones this month, we hope you'll consider what you want your legacy to be. For more information, visit our website or contact Amy Chisholm, Chief Development Officer, at achisholm@projectharmony.com.

Meet Marysa Genoways

Specialized Youth Services

Project Harmony Child Advocacy Center

Explain your relationship with Project Harmony.

In Specialized Youth Services, I am a part of the intake and case management teams. I review missing persons reports submitted by law enforcement and assist with the intake process to ensure each case is ready to be assigned to a specialist. The youth referred to our program may face significant risks, including running away or trafficking. Through case management, I have the opportunity to build connections with youth and their families while helping them access the support, resources and services they need.

What led you to work at Project Harmony?

While I was in college, I had the opportunity to attend an art show at Project Harmony. My team and I got to tour the organization, meet with some of the Project Harmony staff and learn more about their work. That experience left a lasting impression on me, and I knew right then that I wanted to become part of this organization someday.

Tell me about someone who has influenced your work or a mentor who has helped the most in your career.

My parents have always been my biggest support system. They are big on doing what makes you happy because life is too short to not do so.

When you are not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?

I enjoy spending time with my 1-year-old child and creating new memories as a family whether it’s going to the zoo, watching sports or going to the pool! We love to stay busy and enjoy every day to its fullest.

What is the one thing you are most proud of about your job?

I love having the opportunity to go out into the community, connect with my clients and build meaningful relationships with them. They continually inspire me with their resilience, strength and determination as they work through adversity. I also learn so much from each person I meet, and their experiences continue to shape my perspective. Knowing that I can make a meaningful difference while learning from the youth I serve is what makes this work so fulfilling.

What is your favorite quote?

“The past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." -Rafiki
