Camp Sancta Maria

September 2025 Newsletter

As we close the 2025 camp season, we give thanks for the memories made, the friendships formed, and the joy we shared together. Though this season has come to an end, we send you forth with this blessing:

“The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;

the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

— Numbers 6:24–26

Until we gather again, may God’s peace and love remain with you always.

Soaking up the last ray of sun over Lake 27, Summer 2025

Dear Camp Sancta Maria Family,

As the leaves begin to change and the wildlife enjoy the quiet of the fall at camp, we pause to reflect with gratitude on the season we’ve just shared. The 2025 season was filled with joy, faith, and friendship, and we are so thankful for each camper and family who made it special.

Even as the trails grow still, our work continues—planning, preparing, and dreaming for next summer. A special thank you to all the families who took the time to complete our survey. Your feedback is a gift, helping us see how we can make Camp Sancta Maria an even more meaningful experience for years to come.

We are excited to announce our dates for summer of 2026 (below) and will open registration on December 1, 2025.

Here are the highlights we share with you today:

  • Thank you and Farewell to Mrs. Bethane Cabrera: Check out our article wishing Mrs. Bethane Cabrera many blessings as she takes on a new adventure.

  • Ambassadors: Help us spread the word about Michigan's best kept secret!

  • Mark Your Calendars: please see below for a peek at the plans we have in store for 2026!

Thank you to all who help to make CSM possible! We are grateful for your prayers, your service, and your generous financial support.

We could not do this without you!

In Christ,

John David Kuhar

Dad, Donor, and Executive Director

Thank You & Farewell to Ms. Bethane

We want to share that our wonderful Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Bethane Cabrera, will be moving on from Camp Sancta Maria. We are so grateful for the care, joy, and support she has given to our community. We thank her for her dedication and pray that God blesses her abundantly on her next adventure!

🌟 We Need You! 🌟

We need your voice and your heart to help share the joy of CSM with others!

We are inviting campers and their families to serve as ambassadors in their local schools, parishes, and communities. As an ambassador, you’ll be the friendly point of contact—helping families in your area discover the incredible opportunity their children have to encounter Christ at Camp Sancta Maria this summer.

This mission is vital to the life of our camp. By spreading the word, you’re not only inviting children to a life-changing experience of faith, friendship, and fun—you’re also ensuring that Camp Sancta Maria can continue to grow and serve future generations.

We’ve already reached out to Catholic schools across Michigan, and parishes are next on our list. Nothing is more powerful than a personal invitation. Will you help us by reaching out to your principal or DRE and encouraging them to share CSM with their families? Let's not keep CSM the best kept secret!

Together, we can keep the heart of Camp Sancta Maria beating strong for generations to come!

Please contact Joseph Terbrack at joseph@campsanctamaria.org for more information on how to get involved.
