Giving Hope and Time
Dear Friends:

In the frenzy of preparing for the holidays and the end of the year, I've had occasion to be reminded of the true spirit of this giving season. It is the gift of our selves, of heart and mind, that is the most important gift we bring to the world. All this, I feel, is reflected in the way people and organizations have rallied around the mission of Lazarex Cancer Foundation and the patients that we serve.

There are so many things to report about what has been accomplished in 2019 with your your support. But the most important message I'd like to leave you with is THANK YOU . We will recap the year in January 2020, but you can check our News page in the meantime.

Throughout 2019 our foundation has received the many blessings of generosity and support through donations, sponsorship, grants, volunteered skills, gifts in kind, and third party fundraisers. All will translate to more funds available for more patients, legislation and stakeholder partnerships that will improve access to clinical trials for all cancer patients, and community based initiatives to reach the most vulnerable and high risk populations with cancer awareness and prevention programs. This has been an amazing year!!

We will end 2019 having assisted over 700 patients with financial assistance and clinical trial navigation, and over 4,500 patients since 2007. Thanks to all who have donated we are over $70,000 raised towards our $100,000 year end goal!

Warmest Holiday Blessings to you and your family from all of us on the Lazarex team.
With Deepest Gratitude,
Vera Packard, Executive Director
Meet Heather Canterbury

When Heather Canterbury was 16, her 2-year-old brother, John, was diagnosed with Leukemia. Heather loved helping take care of him. It wasn’t until years later when she became a nurse, joining the very team that worked to save John’s life, that she found a way to help.

After 10 years as a nurse at City of Hope Hospital specializing in bone marrow transplants, Heather’s passion has been reignited. She joined Team Cancer Sucks , the endurance fundraising partner of Lazarex Cancer Foundation, to run the 2020 Big Sur International Marathon!

Be The Key To Hope This Holiday Season

We've raised near $72,000 towards our $100,000 goal for the end of the year - thanks to all who have donated!

Our mission not only helps fight cancer, but also despair and hopelessness. No one fights cancer alone when you support Lazarex. You become part of the circle of love and support that gives the gifts of hope and time for the cancer patients we serve and their families.

Since 2007 we've assisted over 4,500 patients with trial related expenses and clinical trial identification. This is all of your dollars at work! We hope someone you love never needs us, but if they do, we are here to help.
