Construction Update

Great progress continues at Angel’s home! The exterior is nearly complete, showcasing a beautiful green paint job that truly says "welcome home". Inside, construction has entered the final phase with finishing touches like doors, trim, and paint underway. Our team is working diligently to finish the home as soon as possible.

Advocates Rally to Restore $500M in CalHome Funding

California’s affordable housing crisis continues to impact hardworking families. In the latest state budget, $500 million in CalHome funding — the state’s only program supporting low-income, first-time homebuyers — was cut. This decision puts 500 planned Habitat homes and thousands more in the pipeline on hold.

Housing advocates, Habitat for Humanity leaders, and state lawmakers recently rallied at the California Capitol to urge the governor to restore this critical funding. They also highlighted a proposed $10 billion affordable housing bond that could go to voters in June 2026.

Your support helps Nevada County Habitat for Humanity continue building safe, stable, affordable homes — even in challenging times. Together, we can ensure that every family has the opportunity to achieve the stability of homeownership.
