Boloco Boston Common

Dear Friends of Boloco on the Boston Common,

Today is our last day in business at this location. We close permanently at 4pm,

We opened our doors here at Park Plaza almost exactly 15 years ago, full of the typical excitement that accompanies such a marquis location. It was our 16th location at the time, so we had some experience under our belt. But as it was the height of the Great Recession of 2008/2009, we were also a little nervous.

As it turned out, there was zero sign of a recession at Emerson and the Boston Common and all our neighbors drew crowds like we only dreamed of in those early days that continued for many years. Shortly after this store opened, we also moved our Support Center to the 2nd floor of this historic birthplace of Edgar Allen Poe and there we - the "corporate team" - resided for nearly 8 years. Those of us who founded the company over 25 years ago as well as our creative teams and operating teams got to know many of you during those years – it was a special time.

We loved being in this neighborhood and we loved serving all of you. It’s been an honor.

We are working with our team members to either help them find positions at our 2 remaining Boston locations (Children’s Hospital on Longwood Ave + 50 Congress Street in the Financial District) or solid jobs at great partners of ours such as MGH/Partners and Children’s Hospital. Some of the team you know have been here since we opened our doors – we are so grateful to them, and we are so grateful to all of you.

Thank you. That’s the easy part. We mean it.

Good-bye. Not so much. So we’ll say ciao for now 🙏🏼
