Thank you, Clerk Tabatha Clemons!
Please join us in thanking our friend and colleague Tabatha Clemons for her years of service to Grant County and the Kentucky Association of Counties. Tabatha is stepping down as Grant County Clerk and KACo's 2nd Vice President effective June 1 to pursue a new career opportunity in the private sector.
Tabatha has served as county clerk for 11 years and is a past president of the Kentucky County Clerks Association. She testified numerous times before members of the General Assembly, advocating for the needs of county clerks and systems to best serve the public.
In addition to serving on the KACo Executive Committee, Tabatha has been a member of the KACo Board of Directors, the KACo Finance Corporation Board and the KACo Leasing Trust Board. We value her leadership and friendship, and wish her all the best in her future endeavors!

| | | | FINAL DAYS: Registration deadline for KACo salt auction is June 3 | |
KACo will host the 2025 Salt Auction for counties on June 16 and 17. The auction offers fiscal courts a proven way to save 20-40 percent on road salt through reverse auctions.
In a typical auction, prices go up as people compete to buy something. In a reverse auction, prices go down as sellers compete to offer the lowest price. This process creates a competitive environment that can result in cost savings.

| | | | Motorcycle best practices can improve safety | |
Motorcycle riders continue to be overrepresented in fatal traffic crashes. In 2023, there were 6,335 motorcyclists killed — 15% of all traffic fatalities. NHTSA data show that this is the highest number of motorcyclists killed since at least 1975.
To keep everyone safe, drivers and motorcyclists are urged to share the road and be alert, and NSC is reminding motorcyclists to make themselves visible, to use DOT-compliant motorcycle helmets, and to always ride sober.
