Mast General Store and shoppers donate more than $9,500 to Upstate Forever
|
Each June,
Mast General Stores host Land Trust Day, an unofficial holiday that celebrates the work of Land Trusts like Upstate Forever. This year, we were honored to receive 20% of Mast General Greenville's sales on Land Trust Day — June 1, 2019 —
which resulted in a donation of $9,517 to Upstate Forever.
From each of us at Upstate Forever, thank you to Mast General Store and all who shopped in support of Land Trust Day.

Clean Water team shares insights at national River Rally conference
|
|
Last month, Clean Water Director Erika Hollis and Clean Water Advocate Megan Chase attended
River Rally
in Cleveland, Ohio, an annual national conference for grassroots water advocates, river conservation professionals, nonprofit groups from across the US, and more.
This year, the conference took place along the banks of the Cuyahoga River and marked the last time that river caught fire from unregulated pollution 50 years ago — this was a pivotal event that sparked the environmental movement that led to the establishment of the Clean Water Act.
River Rally 2019 featured workshops and speakers to illuminate today's most urgent water topics and provide open discussion of strategies to address these problems collaboratively — including a presentation from Erika and Megan on Upstate Forever's unique use of land prioritization strategies to protect critical drinking water sources across Upstate South Carolina.
