Dear Friends, Family, & my Neighbors of District 33b,

It has been a plentiful and blessed spring so far, with even more great things to come. This past weekend, as we celebrated Mother’s Day, I found myself especially grateful for the incredible women in my life — my mom, Lynn; my wife, Michele; my Chief of Staff, Angie; my legislative aide, Emma; and so many others who continue to inspire and support me every day.

Many of you know that my mom was just 18 years old when I was born. As a young mother, she worked hard and relied heavily on my grandparents to help raise our family. I owe so much to my grandparents, aunts, and everyone who poured into me over the years with love, guidance, and support.

Without each of you, I would not be where I am today. I am deeply thankful, and I know we still have more of God’s work to do in Annapolis and beyond.

Sincerely,

Delegate Stuart "Coach Stu" Schmidt, Jr.

Mental Health Awareness Month

Stu recognizes mental health as an important part of a person and the community. Mental health is no longer something we should be ashamed to talk about; mental health is crucial for a person to be healthy. This month is a good chance to learn about yourself and others.

Say What? Our Intern is "Out of the Office"

My college intern, Anthony, works hard in the office, and even harder when he is out of the office? Anthony (white shirt, left) recently reunited with his previous internship program Maryland Public Service Scholars for a fireside chat with the Lt. Governor, Aruna Miller on the recent 90-day session.
