Dear CHUSY Community:

I write to you today to officially thank Parker Weber as he concludes his last day working with CHUSY today.

As we mark Parker's final day as our CHUSY Community Director, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible impact he has made over the past three years.

During his time with us, Parker helped grow CHUSY into a thriving network engaging over 800 teens and youth across our community. This growth is not just a reflection of increased participation, but of a stronger, more connected, and more vibrant community. Parker had a unique ability to meet teens where they were, creating meaningful entry points and ensuring that each one felt welcomed and valued.

He played a key role in developing a standalone city chapter, expanding opportunities for teens to connect in new and meaningful ways. His commitment to outreach was evident in his visits to countless Hebrew schools, camps, and community events, where he built relationships that brought new teens into our community. In addition, Parker cultivated dozens of partnerships across the Chicagoland area, strengthening our collective work and broadening CHUSY’s reach in lasting ways.

Parker approached his work with dedication, creativity, and heart. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure that our programs were not only successful, but impactful. Because of his efforts, more teens found a place to belong, to lead, and to grow.

On behalf of the entire community, I want to express our deep gratitude to Parker for his leadership and his commitment to CHUSY. While we will certainly miss him, we are excited to see what he does next and know that he will continue to make a difference wherever he goes.

Please join me in thanking Parker for all that he has given to our community and wishing him continued success in his next chapter.

As a final gift to CHUSY, Parker has done an incredible job of transitioning in Sam Bolen as the new CHUSY Community Director. CHUSY is in great hands and Sam will be able to continue on with the incredible work that Parker has started. Please be in touch with Sam Bolen, sbolen@uscj.org, moving forward for any questions or needs related to CHUSY.

Please see below for a message directly from Parker.

B'Shalom,

Marc

Dear CHUSY,

I’m writing to share that after three incredible years as your Community Director, I will be stepping away as of today, March 31st, to begin the next chapter of my journey as a high school history teacher.

Serving CHUSY has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I truly had one of the coolest jobs, getting to work with such passionate teens, dedicated leaders, and an amazing community.

My journey with USY began in 2020, when I was invited by Gillian Sherman to speak at a BJUSY Israel Affairs event. At the time, I was teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies, and I remember Zooming in from an empty science lab after school to talk about the history of Israel. Not long after, I joined Gillian as a BJUSY Youth Advisor in 2021.

After attending my first USY convention that year, I saw firsthand just how powerful and meaningful this community is. I knew I wanted to be part of creating that experience for others. In 2023, I was given that opportunity, and I’m so grateful I said yes.

The CHUSY community has meant so much to me and always will.

To my Chicago office family, Alex, Avram, and Marc, thank you for your collaboration and friendship. I will miss all of our office shenanigans.

To my CHUSY team, Max and Maddie, thank you for your constant support and partnership. CHUSY would not be what it is without you.

To Sam Bolen, mazel tov on stepping into this role. It is an incredible responsibility, but also an incredibly rewarding one. I have full confidence in you and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make.

To my REB, I am so proud of each of you. You have taught me so much and made this job feel like so much more than work. I will always be in your corner, cheering you on.

To the USY team, thank you for your collaboration, partnership, and dedication. I will truly miss working with all of you.

And to CHUSY, thank you for an unforgettable three years. It has been an honor.

B’Ahava,

Parker Weber
