The residents of Anaheim Hills spoke loud and clear in their strong opposition to convert the Serrano Center into a 54 unit condominium complex, and the Anaheim City Council this week reversed a previous approval for the project. As a result, I’m happy to report that
the project will not go forward and is dead in its current form
As you know, I opposed the project as a candidate for District 6 and as your council member before the Anaheim Planning Commission. This week's success is also due to Mayor Harry Sidhu’s leadership. As the state continues to pressure cities to build more housing, it is important that we come together as a community as we continue this important discussion – including helping to locate appropriate sites for housing in District 6. I’ll be exploring better opportunities for potential future sites to address our state’s housing crisis, while maintaining local control to protect our neighborhoods.
We still have a long way to go to preserve our vital community centers in Anaheim Hills, but I will be standing with residents as we explore creative solutions and work together to protect our quality of life in Anaheim Hills.
