Thanks

For Your Role in the WIC-nic!

Greetings, WIC-nic Vendors & Supporters-

WOW! What an event! Thanks to you, the 2nd Annual WIC-nic was a hugely successful event.  In keeping with the World Breastfeeding Week 2022 theme, our whole community really....

"STEPPED UP FOR BREASTFEEDING to EDUCATE AND SUPPORT”!!!

  • 28 families, representing a a total of 66 community members....

STEPPED UP to attend the event! It was great to see our participants leaving with arms full of goodies and smiles in their faces, knowing that they were being celebrated and have the support of the community in their lactation journeys! Several families, who are past their breastfeeding/chestfeeding days, STEPPED UP to share their wisdom and support with new parents.

  • 9 community organizations...

STEPPED UP to share their time, information and resources. Our clients were able to increase their access to childcare, pediatric care, food access, early childhood development, breastfeeding/chestfeeding support/advocacy, domestic violence safety net services, early literacy, chronic disease prevention, and so much more...

  • 7 City of Berkeley tables, representing 9 Public Health programs...

STEPPED UP to show that our division supports the whole lactating family. Not only did they show up on the day of the event, but several also helped with the planning and execution of the event.

  • Tobacco Prevention/Lead Poisoning Prevention- Tino Ratliff
  • CalFresh/ WIC/ Nutrition- Angelica Sanchez-Garcia
  • Heart2Heart- (collaboration with LifeLong Medical Care), Kaprisha Dearman, Margarita Guerrero,
  • COVID Vaccines- Katharine Sullivan, Katie Cobain
  • Oral Health- Jacky Maldonado, Montserrat Robles
  • WIC/Lactation- Monique Sims
  • MCAH (Welcome Table/Photographer) Victoria Lopez, Janice Chin, Irene Toledo, Jocelyn De Sena

  • A few more behind-the-scenes supporters...

STEPPED UP in unseen ways that made the event possible. While you may not have seen these people in a public facing role at the WIC-nic, they helped out immensely.  Librado Nunez, Vanessa Albert & Julia Hedelman (outreach), Francisco, Rafa & Paloma De Sena (flyers, set up, food prep, clean up); Carin Garland (those amazing cupcakes!)
