ICYMI: Climate Forums in Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop
Didn’t make it to the Climate Forum for your city or town? Don’t worry, there will be more opportunities to participate and make your voice heard! In the meantime, check out what we did at the Climate Forums below.
Image is a graphic of the percentages by community-wide emissions by subsector for Chelsea.
The MAPC team shared about greenhouse gas emissions in each of the municipalities. To the right, you can see the emissions by subsector for the City of Chelsea. More details can be found in the presentation slides, which have been uploaded to our website.
Image is a word cloud of responses to the climate survey discussed in the text of this email. The words are written in green.
We wrote “Postcards from the Future” to imagine what progress we’ll have made in addressing climate change by 2050. This word cloud highlights themes from the answers, like planting trees, increasing use of solar power, and taking a community-focused approach to addressing climate change.

Fill out your Postcard from the Future!

Thank you to GreenRoots for hosting the Chelsea event in their wonderful office space! It was great to see folks in person.
About the North Suffolk Zero Carbon Action Plan
The North Suffolk Office of Resilience and Sustainability (NSORS), a regional partnership between Chelsea, Revere, and Winthrop, is gathering input for a Zero Carbon Action Plan that will guide the region’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and the impacts of climate change.

We all use energy to heat and cool our homes, power our electronics, and drive our cars. Many of these energy sources use fossil fuels, which release greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions like carbon dioxide (CO2) into the air. This form of pollution impacts our communities and the globe, and leads to more extreme heat days, changes in rainfall, more severe storms, and flooding.

Creating a Zero Carbon Action Plan can help:
  • Save on energy costs and usage.
  • Improve the air we breathe by reducing dirty fossil fuels.
  • Make our communities safer and easier for walking and biking.
  • Reduce pollution in our waterways.
