Some questions we did not have time for:
- "Can I get the Program Manager to resend the confirmation email to me?"
Yes, simply email your program manager (contact info can be found here) and request a re-send of the confirmation email. This confirmation email goes to the email address that participants have registered under - if you, as an Advisor, would like a copy, we are also happy to send it your way.
- "Can you show me an example of [Program area]"
For specific program area goals/activities, we encourage participants/advisors to check out the Program Book, our social media channels for participant spotlights, and connecting with fellow participants on our Facebook page. Remember-- participants are encouraged to explore their own passions and get creative! If they'd like feedback on a potential goal or activity, they can email their program manager.
- "Can we still submit paper record books after Submittable?"
While the goal is for The Congressional Award to go fully paperless eventually, we understand that some participants may have circumstances that would exclude them from using online submissions. We will likely implement a transition period of 3-6 months where we accept both forms of submissions, then we will work with these students on a case-by-case basis.
- "When is the website/Submittable live?"
We are in the final development stages of the new website and hope to have it launched within the next month.
- "Do participants have to meet the month requirement if they have already met the hour requirement?"
The month requirement can be a little confusing – it’s actually not a time limit, or how much time has passed, but it refers to “active months”. You need to meet the hour and month requirements in each program area. So this means you need to spread your hours out over the course of at least that many active, separate months. A month has to have at least 1 full hour of activity in it for it to count towards your month total. So no, unfortunately you are not able to complete the requirements in less than the required amount of months.
