Adequate mental health care is the greatest unmet need of our time. Among American teens, 20% currently have a debilitating mental health condition. The nationwide crisis in mental and behavioral health is complicated both by the dwindling ranks of care providers, and by the explosive growth of substance abuse that is affecting communities in every corner of the United States. Mercy continues to rise to meet these challenges and provide excellent health care to all.
Since May 1, 2019, Mercy Jefferson began seeing patients at the only intensive outpatient program for adolescents and adults in Jefferson County. The program provides a level of psychiatric care between routine counseling and inpatient hospitalization.
