Blue Zones Partners at BCHD

We are excited to keep our Blue Zones Project community partners updated through our new quarterly Blue Zones Project newsletter. In each installment, we will outline opportunities for Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) to help promote your business and what resources are available for you and your team.

Healthy Eating in the New Year

Blue Zones Project is a community-wide approach to creating healthier and more productive citizens. We recently added two new businesses committed to healthy eating to our list of 90+ partners.

Congratulations to our newest Blue Zones Project Designations!

Promotional Opportunities

For existing partners, you might be hearing from or have already been in contact with our Restaurant Ambassador Committee. Our committee consists of experienced volunteers who work to educate the community about best practices for healthy eating and optimized food environments.

Ways we are looking to re-engage:

  • Promotion through BCHD Newsletter to reach more than 33,000 subscribers
  • Graphic Design Services & Menu Optimization
  • Branded Signage

Our team is also happy to add you to our BCHD Catering List and host collaborative programs with your business.

Advertising Opportunity for Blue Zones Project Approved businesses

BCHD is working on a 12-month advertising program in The Beach Reporter for a limited number of Blue Zones Project Approved businesses. The discounted cost would be $95 per month per business, with advertisements running once per month. Each business participating in this campaign will also be featured in a brief story, or “advertorial,” once during the year.

If you are interested in being involved or learning more about this opportunity, please contact Jackie Uy at jackie.uy@bchd.org.

In the Media

Now more than ever, people are discovering Blue Zones Project and learning about how people are living longer healthier lives. Explore the Blue Zones and uncover the world’s newest Blue Zone on Netflix with Founder Dan Buettner’s documentary series, “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones,” which is available to stream now.

You can also check out his interview on NPR, if you’re interested in learning about habits you can incorporate into your daily life to live like a centenarian.
