Hello friends,

Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! We’re always grateful for YOU! Thank you for being a library supporter.

Have you seen the Virtual Museum of Geology’s Exhibit on the library’s Second Floor? It’s so cool!

Stop in to see dinosaur vertebrae and teeth, Woolly Mammoth hair and

bone (!!), fossils, and lots of sparkly minerals. We’ve been marveling at

the variety of items and information. The exhibit is here through the end

of November.

The library is closed on Thurs., Nov. 23 so our staff can celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends. We’ll be open on Friday at 8 a.m. and ready to recommend just the right reads to take you into the long weekend.

Whether you’ve been tapped to host Thanksgiving dinner for the first time, or you’re a long-time pro, the experts at Butterball are always available to talk turkey. To prepare for the festive season, the library has a wide selection of popular cookbooks and holiday entertainment guides. Save time by placing a hold and using our convenient curbside pickup service when your items

are ready.

What will you read, watch or do this month?

Meet with local employers on Nov. 13 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the library’s Lower Level. Bring your resume and dress for success to discover your next career opportunity. Don’t have a printer at home? We offer printing and copying services for a small fee. Visit Wisconsin Job Center to see all their

upcoming workforce events.

We’re looking for readers who are interested in talking books and fostering a spirit of community through the library. Whether the title is a favorite or not, we’d love to support the connections that form from reading together. Here’s a list of book clubs for adults:

Afternoon Book Club

Banned Book Club at Planet Perk

Not Your Classic Book Club

If you’d like to start a new club, we can help with that, too. Email Community Engagement Librarian Sandy at toland@oshkoshpubliclibrary.org

Ready, set, read for prizes and fun! We’re bringing back our cold weather reading challenge to help you get through the wildest days of Wisconsin’s winter one page at a time. Set a personal goal, read what you like and

track your minutes online or use a paper tracker from the library. We’re putting the final touches on this all ages program and can’t wait to get started on Dec. 19!
