Thank you for caring about our families' well-being. For the safety of our families,
we would like to share an important update with you regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) prevention.
We are grateful for our community of families, staff, volunteers, and donors always, and especially now. This week has included both ups and downs throughout the RMH community and we are thankful for being able to share it all together.  Whether it is happiness, memories, joy, confusion, or grief, experiencing these things with each other builds our resilience as friends, family, and as an organization.  It has been heartwarming to see relationships strengthening despite social distance, whether from family to family or RMH and hospital staff supporting and sustaining each other.  Whether a timely phone call, meaningful note, or air hug, we encourage you to accept any support that comes your way this week.

UPDATES:
Across RMH Houston:

·         Holcombe House  currently has 22 families living in the House. We are grateful for donors who have continued the steady stream of meals and supply donations that are nourishing and protecting our families during this time!

·         Ronald McDonald House inside Children's Memorial Hermann  has remained open for family guest overnight stays, as well as serving snacks and donated meals in the 7 th  floor lounge.

·         Ronald McDonald House inside Texas Children's Hospital  is also open for family guest overnight stays, as well as hosting families for respite, snacks, and donated meals. Although the hospital is still only allowing one visitor at a time per patient, parents were allowed to start switching out for each other this week, which was a welcomed change by our families.

·         The Pediatric Child Life staff is continuing to operate our RMH Kitchen at MD Anderson and the Family Room spaced utilized for staff respite.  Although our staff and volunteers cannot be there in person, we have continued to send snacks and supplies and appreciate the partnership of the MD Anderson staff who are helping keeping the kitchen open for family access.

·        Employees are being screened daily before admittance across all locations. All RMH employees are keeping safety as a top priority, following protocols such as wearing masks daily.

·         Plans for a four-phased reinstatement of our services throughout RMH Houston are being th oughtfully created to prepare for the approval process from our RMHC Global Office, which includes approval from the City of Houston Health Department and Hospital partners.
