April Community Event:
Thank you and next steps
Thank you to everyone who attended the community event on April 7th and April 10th! We had over 200 neighbors attend in total and there were great, in-depth conversations at each of the tables. It was exciting to see the number of new faces as people joined this neighborhood planning process.

Next Steps
Community Advisory Committee members will take the input received at the community event and make edits to the draft policies based on what they heard. Example action items were presented at the community event and the CAC will edit these and add new ones.

This community event marked the end of the policy writing phase and the start of action planning. In previous phases of the project we created a neighborhood vision based on the hopes and values that emerged during community outreach. In the Policy Development phase CAC and working group members drafted goals and policies that provide direction on reaching that vision. The focus will now shift to creating an action plan of concrete steps that will implement each of the draft policies. The Action Planning phase will last until we begin the adoption process in Fall 2019.

Want to Get Involved?
Attend the next working group meeting to dial in on the action items within one of the topic areas--economic development, transportation, parks and natural resources, land use planning, and community. We have received hundreds of suggested action items during this neighborhood planning process and we need community input as we sort and evaluate them. The working group meeting will be on May 21st from 4:00-7:00 pm (details below), and we hope to see you there!
