Cleves Waterworks will repair a fire hydrant on South Miami Avenue on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Due to staff being deployed for the repair, the office will be closed that day. Phones will not be answered, and bill payments will not be accepted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Cleves Service Department Projects in the Village

Our Service Department will begin the week with two major projects. On Monday and Tuesday, crews will remove soil and plants from the Cleves business district in preparation for this year’s Christmas Walk.

The Christmas Walk Committee is seeking volunteers to decorate the Village’s nineteen flower pots.

If you’d like to sponsor a pot, please contact Christmas Walk Chairperson and Councilmember Kevin Burns. To reserve a flower pot, email Kevin at Kevin.burns@villageofcleves.us

We will also pick up trash and empty trash receptacles in Cleves Community Park on Monday. The photos below, provided by the Mayor, show the size of the weekend crowds. Attendance was strong on Saturday, and Sunday was no different—even with the rain.

On Wednesday, we will continue to clean the catch basins on East State Rd. The rain we received yesterday will keep leaves, walnuts, and hedge apples falling. We will also clean the catch basins on North and South Miami Avenues in the downtown areas.

Thursday, we will be cutting low-hanging branches in the North Finley Alley. The baseball fields that have dying grass will be burned off to prepare the fields for next spring.

Friday, we will be cleaning in the business district, emptying trash receptacles, and spraying weeds in the Village right-of-ways.

Message from the Mayor

Deat Resident:

In our effort to ensure residents have the information they need, I will begin sending out Inside Cleves—Council Updates and Community Highlights on the first Wednesday following each council meeting. Residents can expect the first edition in their email inbox this Wednesday.

The Council and I understand that many residents are busy and may not be able to attend or watch our meetings. Inside Cleves offers another way to stay informed.

When you have a moment, please visit our Village website. It’s easy—just click “Visit Our Website” at the beginning or end of This Week in the Village.
