Village of Cleves Residents- Your Election Day Ballot

The November General Election is on Tuesday, November 4, 2025; however, early voting began on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Immediately below is the ballot language. There are two issues for residents to vote on in this election.

Issue 10 is the Cleves Public Service Levy, which funds police protection, emergency response, equipment, and personnel.

Issue 14 is a renewal levy for Great Parks.

Cleves residents also get to vote to elect their Miami Township Trustees. The ballot you will use on election day follows.

A Message from the Mayor

Good morning, Cleves!

As Mayor of Cleves, I’ve prioritized understanding the needs of every neighborhood in our Village. You might be wondering: what has actually been accomplished over the past 22 months? That’s a fair question—especially if you’re not driving through our streets regularly.

But take a closer look.

North and South Miami are noticeably cleaner than they were in 2023. And US 50? It’s been transformed. In 2023 and much of 2024, the bike lanes were unsafe due to overgrowth. Today, they’re clear and rideable. The steep hillside near Skyline has been cut back, the guardrails are visible, and the area beneath them is no longer choked with weeds.

This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because our small but dedicated maintenance team—just three full-time staff members, and one part-time—worked hard with limited resources. They don’t earn much, but they care deeply about this Village.

CLEAN COURT ESTABLISHED-2025- MAYOR'S COURT To Return Soon

As we move forward, it’s important to understand that our ordinances—passed by both past and present councils—are in place to ensure every resident has the right to live in a neighborhood where those rules are clear, accessible, and enforced. That’s why we’ve established a CLEAN Court to handle civil property maintenance violations and will soon have our Mayor's Court back in place to enforce our criminal ordinances.

Magistrate Scott Rubenstein will once again preside over our court this Thursday, and it’s already making a difference. Nothing like it existed before this year.

And we’re not done yet.

Over the next 26 months, we’ll continue to raise the bar. Soon, we’ll have the authority to tow unlicensed vehicles, abandoned cars that never move, and junked or inoperable vehicles that have long occupied our streets. These issues aren’t isolated—they’re visible in every neighborhood, including Coleman Woods and Aston View.

Cleves is a historic community, and we should all be proud to call it home. That pride is visible when we take care of our properties and support each other. It demonstrates that we expect every homeowner and resident, regardless of where they live, to be treated with dignity, peace, and respect.

Your Village Council is working hard to continue building a village we’re proud of.

WKRC TV NEWS REPORT ABOUT BREAK IN AT BMX TRACK CLEVES COMMUNITY PARK

The Village of Cleves is asking for the community’s help following a break-in at the Cleves BMX track in Cleves Community Park.

On the evening of Tuesday, October 8, 2025, deputies from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity after dark at the park. According to Lt. Dan McElroy, officers discovered evidence of forced entry and damage at the BMX facility. The incident is currently under investigation.

If you live near the park or were in the area that evening and noticed anything unusual, please contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office at 513.825.2280. Even small details could help.

WKRC Local 12 has also reported on the incident, highlighting the damage and the impact on the local BMX community. You can view by clicking on the arrow. The video lasts 46 seconds.

Cleves Service Department Projects in the Village

Our Service Department returns to work today after celebrating a Federal Holiday with our families. The time off was great, but it does throw off our schedule because Mondays and Tuesdays are spent cleaning the park. Due to the Soccer Teams paying to have their fields lined, the entire department will be in the park today. Add to that, one of our maintenance staff is on vacation this week, so we are shorthanded.

On Wednesday, my team will continue cutting the baseball fields at Cleves Community Park. You will also see us continuing to paint the curbs on South Miami Avenue.

This Thursday: My department will also cut the grass along US 50 to maintain that area. We take great pride in maintaining the entrances and exits of our Village. Those entrances give residents and visitors alike a view of our Village, and we want those impressions to be positive.

On Friday, we will continue cutting grass and trimming overgrowth along the US 50 corridor. Additionally, we will empty the garbage receptacles in our business district, cut weeds, and maintain village-owned properties.

As always, the Service Department can receive specific resident requests by phone, direct email, or by clicking the contact link on our Village webpage.

There is no need to search for our website; you can click the red buttons at the beginning of this weekly newsletter.
