Thank you for making our Big Day of Giving

Campaign and Fiesta a huge success!

We are so grateful for the generous community support of the unhoused through the Big Day of Giving Campaign and Fiesta! It was so much fun this

year, and we celebrate everyone who gave!

HART raised $49,426 from 122 donors through online donations, matching donors, and fiesta contributions. Many Folsom residents, businesses, and city officials joined our successful event. Our 2nd Annual Big Day of Giving Fiesta will be on May 6, 2026, just in time to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

As we serve Folsom and its residents in need, we are humbled by all who dedicate their time and money to help us grow the impact of our mission.

Thank you to the Indian Association of Sacramento

The turnout for this year’s 5K Run/Walk was tremendous as the event marked its eighth successful year. We were honored to be selected as one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised throughout the day, with proceeds supporting HART of Folsom. Over 400 participants registered for the run, and prizes were awarded across various age categories, celebrating both young and seasoned runners. We are proud to partner with the Indian Association of Sacramento and look forward to future collaborations with them!

Hands 4 Hope at FMS Track Meet - April 24

Folsom Middle School Club, Hands 4 Hope, is a student-run organization where members choose a cause to support and build a campaign to support it. This year they chose to support the unhoused in our community through HART of Folsom. Students organized and sold treats at a multi-school track meet this month and raised over $400!! The funds will go towards transportation needs for our Housing clients. They also donated a bike! Thank you! Please learn more about how to support Hands 4 Hope.

A Moment in Time with Trudy Hoekstra

Lakeside Church Host Volunteer

What brought you to HART?  I have always been a big advocate for helping the unhoused. Back in 2004, I started flipping houses. On my first flip, I partnered with Loaves and Fishes to hire unhoused people, hoping to teach them a trade they could use to get good employment opportunities. It worked for one man, Anthony, who went from living in his car to becoming an electrician! The real estate downturn put a pause on my home flipping, and my interaction with the unhoused since 2008 was minimal.  Then, when my church, Lakeside, hosted one of HART’s first meetings and advertised it to the church attenders, I was extremely excited to hear about HART forming to help our neighbors in Folsom and learn how I could help. RODEO 2025

HART of Folsom is providing 3 teams of sturdy folks to work the entry gate at the Folsom Rodeo on July 3, 4 and 5 - yeehaw!! If you’ve served in prior years, we’d love to have you there. If you haven’t, we’d love to have you join us. We work under the awning (thankfully), checking tickets and welcoming guests to the rodeo, 4:30-9:00 pm each evening. We actually work where we have the Winter Shelter Intake, so this is a great way to thank our City for their support – and it’s a fundraiser for us!

Be prepared for warm (or very warm evenings) and standing for periods of time. We work in the shade of the awning, have cold water to drink, rest times, dinner, and bandanas to soak in ice water, and see some the rodeo. We need 10 volunteers each evening, roughly 4:30-9:00. The rodeo sells out, and it’s a very fun place to be, fireworks included!
