It was wonderful to see so many people at the performance including friends and new faces.

The performance is a way for the participants to grow their skills not only as improvisors but also as performers. Performing is just like any other skill, it must be practiced. The audience must be there as an integral role in the communication of performers and views. We all participate.

The workshop is created to help people level up on their contact improv and movement skills as well as a way to build connections with fellow Buffalonians and dancers throughout North America.

Chris Aiken approaches contact improvisation from a compositional view. This focus on seeing with the eyes is a practice that challenges one to make the dance safer through an increased awareness.

This would not be possible without all participants volunteering and workstudy folks, Stephanie Beauchamp and Aaron Water making food as well as the technical crew and the wonderful folks at our venue St. John's Grace.
