As 2017 draws to a close, it is time to both look back with gratitude and to look forward with anticipation.
It has been my honor to serve as our chapter president this year. Our board worked hard to demonstrate the value of membership, with inspirational events like Legends and Leaders, Language Matters and Jobs That Didn't Exist 10 Years Ago. We held a workshop on ethics and networking, and brought back our series on nonprofit public relations. We celebrated our members at our annual appreciation event.
Last week, we honored the year's best campaigns and tactics at our 15th Annual Cleveland Rocks Awards. The event was one to remember, realizing a dream of many, including this past chair, to hold our Rocks event at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Yet, what I enjoyed most about serving as your president was hearing from you. From emails and calls, to coffees and lunches, I heard what this organization means to you. Some of you began your careers before social media, others are working in specialized areas, like digital communications. There is a desire to understand public relations in terms of this changing landscape.
As Bob Rotatori takes over as president, know that our chapter will continue to strive to offer you the best membership value possible. Please keep reaching out, showing up and supporting one another.
Happy holidays and warmest regards,
Lorraine Schuchart, APR
The 2017 board of PRSA Greater Cleveland would like to thank Lorraine for her outstanding leadership this year. We were honored to work with you!
