Thank you to our greenhouse volunteers

THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered their time at the greenhouse last week plant local ecotype native seed that was hand-harvested from local prairies!

We planted a variety of native forbs and grasses that require 30- or 60-day cold stratification, plus some species that don't require cold strat.

These will be part of our native plant sale this spring--stay tuned!

Ullr Bash trail fundraiser was a success

The Ullr Bash Event & Winter Bike Ride, a fundraiser for Pottawattamie County Trails Association, was hosted in Mineola on January 17.

The event included a 10-mile ride on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail, food & drinks, games, raffles, and live & silent auctions.

Golden Hills wins video contest thanks to you!

We are excited and grateful to announce that we won Local Stream's recent video giveaway, selected through an open community vote where you showed up in force to rally behind our mission.

THANK YOU for voting for Golden Hills!

The giveaway was created to spotlight organizations doing meaningful, boots-on-the-ground work in their communities. Golden Hills received the most public votes, demonstrating the strong public support.

Over the next month, we will partner with Local Stream Media to produce a video podcast episode and a video update highlighting who we are, our mission, and the people behind the scenes doing the hard work day in and day out.

“This win wasn’t random. Golden Hills partnering with Milkweed Matters & Glenwood FFA

Lance Brisbois recently gave a presentation about prairies and native plants, and shared seed with Glenwood FFA to start growing native plants. We are partnering with Milkweed Matters on a series of classes with the FFA students as they learn about plant propagation in their greenhouse this winter.
