Wow! What a night! Thank you for being a part of last week's SS
United States
Virtual Gala, commemorating the ship’s record-smashing maiden voyage. The gala "variety show" featuring stars of sound, stage, and screen was a huge success. From musical tributes and magical performances to celebrating the history of America’s Flagship, it was an hour of great fun. Special thanks to hosts and co-chairs of the Conservancy's West Coast Chapter Mark and David Perry (no relation), our producers at Beyond Pix, Dolly Parton, Kate Burton, Mercedes Ellington, Glenn Farrington, Akira Sky, Klea Blackhurst, Nita Whitaker and her daughters Skye and Liisi LaFontaine
. Beginning with her maiden voyage, the "First Lady of the Seas" has always attracted extraordinary and inspiring talent!
For those of you who joined us, we hope you had a wonderful time reliving the glamorous age of ocean liner travel – and the golden age of television. Your comments and support throughout the event helped make it a wonderful time and a tremendous success. We hope that you will stay engaged in the effort to save this unifying symbol of America’s strength, innovation, and resiliency. If you missed it, you can view the show
