Thank you for your gift of $ to WMNF last month!
Your May donation to WMNF supported the mission-based work we do on air and in the community, including:
-
In-depth artist interviews like Marcie Finkelstein's May 20 conversation with Tallahassee-born singer-songwriter Grant Peeples on Words & Music.
-
Public affairs call-in shows that present local views and open discussion of regional topics—shows like The Sunday Forum's May 14 episode discussing a recently released 90-page report from the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg (FHSP) which compared national, state, and local data to better understand mental health trends among Pinellas County and St. Petersburg BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) communities.
-
Community events that provide opportunities for people to connect and discuss important issues. For example, on the last Friday of each month, WMNF partners with folks from The Living Mirror Playback Theater to host Community Talk-Back and Improv, an interactive experience where attendees share their thoughts and experiences surrounding WMNF's mission of the month, like May's topic mental health awareness. The troupe then "plays back" those stories using improv techniques to foster dialog and understanding.
In addition, your gift may positively impact WMNF's ability to secure funding from community partners. How so? Many grant-awarding organizations factor a non-profit's total number of donors (in addition to dollars raised) into their decision to award funding. Every donor and every donation makes a difference here at WMNF.
Thank you for your support. With your help, WMNF continues to activate a better-informed, more connected, and more compassionate community.
With gratitude,
Shari Akram
Development Director
