FILM
JASON LEWIS was cast in "Car Dogs," a SAG Feature. SHELLY BOUCHER and DECLAN KINNANE were cast in "Dromedary", an ASU Capstone film. JAYME DAVIS won Best Comedy in the 2013 ASU Campus Movie Fest for her film "Postpardon." JUDY EISENBERG and KELLY NICOLE are starring, together, in "Dear M," an ASU Capstone Film. MICHELLE ALLEN is in "Maura." MICHELLE ALLEN was also cast in the Sci-Fi feature film " Secrets of the Superstition." JOHN PIATTONI was cast in "Beyond the Window," an ASU Capstone film playing the role of Daniel. ALEX BALDWIN played Patrick in "Agoraphobia" that placed in the Top 20 at a#f's fall challenge. FRANK MACAUDA is in "Fork in the Socket," a webseries, premiering at Film Bar October 21.
THEATRE
MADDIE WILMINK is in "The Music Man" at Scottsdale Musical Theatre Company playing at PCDC Nov 14-17. MADDIE WILMINK is also in VYT's "The Princess and the Pea" playing Oct 18-Nov 3. BRENNA KAYCE is in "Radium Girls" at Desert Mountain High School. COLTER RAY was cast in the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow" at Ghostlight Theatre. SAM BROWN was cast as the Lion in "The Wizard of Oz" at Mountain View School and the Medium Wolf in Theater Works' Youth Works' Production of "A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol." KELLY NICOLE was cast in Hale Theatre's "A Christmas Carol" as a Toppers Girl. DECLAN KINNANE is in "Done to Death" at Horizon High School. MARCELLA GRASSA and RICHARD WALES performed in "The Mighty Vandals" in Miami, AZ at the end of October. LYDIA McCLOSKEY plays "Lily" in The Death of Dr. Pepper" presented by Northwest Christian School at AZ Broadway Theatre.
COMMERCIAL/TV/VO/INDUST CODY BALLENTINE is on the first episode of "Modern Family" as a Quarterback on the football team. DECLANE KINNANE will be in a Doritos Superbowl contest commercial. CEILIDH JEANS booked a national commercial for Wendy's!!!!! |

Tis the season to be Thankful. And I am. I am filled with gratitude that I am able to so fully enjoy my job in helping people reach their artistic dreams. What a joy it is to help people express themselves and work towards their goals.
I am eternally grateful for all of you that have studied at Verve.
And, I couldn't do it by myself. I am immensly grateful to the talented coaches that work beside me at Verve: SUSAN K. BRIGHAM, JENNIFER PFLAZGRAFF, GENE GANSSLE, DIANE SENFFNER, BARBARA ACKER, KATHERINE STEWART and CHRIS REDISH. They have incredible talent and I am so grateful!

Verve's Scene Study classes are a safe, vigorous, nurturing environment for you to build and practice your technique. Only through long-term training will you achieve your goals, stretch your previously held limitations, and learn to be flexible and adaptable while remaining true to the character and the script.
Scene Study is month-to-month, and ongoing. Students are encouraged to stay in class for a minimum of six months. Entrance into the class is through audition or completion of THE CORE.
AUDITING: Any prospective students interested in taking The Core or Scene Study should plan on auditing the Monday night Scene Study class. Audits are free and are the last Monday of each month; RSVP to Amanda@VerveStudio.net.
CORE/FORMER STUDENTS: If you would like to re-enroll, come on back! November session starts Monday, November 4.

Film Acting

Utilizing the acting technique taught in the Foundational classes, the Film Acting course gives actors the experience and knowledge needed to book film roles and perform them with confidence. Through practice and application of film scripts and scenes, and with guided instruction, actors will build experience and knowledge, and have the confidence to make bold, artistic and honest choices.
Video camera and playback will be utilized. A digital copy of the student's best work will be provided to the student at the conclusion of the course.

More and more local producers are requesting actors proficient in TelePrompTer for commercials, industrials, and television work and now they're even being used in auditions frequently. Those actors that do have a class and experience with the TelePrompTer under their belt have a definite competitive advantage.
Class participants will have multiple opportunities to use the Prompter during the class with a variety of scripts. Class size is limited to 6 students.

Advanced Commercial Workout
|
ADVANCED COMMERCIAL WORKOUT is a rigorous, fast-paced class for those who have already taken the COMMERCIALS course. Multiple scripts will be covered audition-style. This workout is offered quarterly and students are encouraged to take it regularly to keep skills sharp.

Youth Classes
| Youth classes are a school-year round acting class, culminating in May 2014 at which time a Showcase DVD will be created of the student's best work and sent to local agents and casting directors.
The class meets every week for 90-minutes and provides students a place to learn and implement acting technique. $160/month.
Curriculum includes Technique, Script Analysis, Commercials, Improv, Film and On-Camera presence work, and the practicality of The Business (local agents, casting directors).
This class is essential for students wishing to get agency representation as well as for those who already have representation.
Students will work individually in monologues, exercises and improvs, as well as be partnered up for scene and on-camera scene work. The difficulty of materials will be assigned based on experience of the actor so beginning, intermediate and advanced actors will all excel in this class.

Intro to Music is Back!

All Preschoolers and Kindergartners have an innate love of music and this course allows them to explore music through a fun atmosphere. 4-and 6-year olds will learn to identify instruments and the instrument families, the concepts of rhythms, pitch and dynamics through hands-on activities, fun, games, videos and more.
Each course is 8 weeks long and the class size is limited to 6 students.
