We want to take a moment to let you know how thankful we are to Angels Unaware families, volunteers, and donors who participate, support, and encourage our nonprofit and for recognizing that HIV families continue to be stigmatized, marginalized, and underserved. Angels Unaware has provided encouragement and support to children and their families living with HIV for thirty-two years. Angels Unaware's primary program is Camp Ray-Ray which was the first HIV family camp in the United States and is one of the very few remaining. We are thrilled to announce that our 27th Camp will occur June 9 - 11, 2023, with new leadership. We welcome Camp Founder Barb Johnson back as Camp Director with the help of Sarah Sacco, Tracy Hawkins Collins,

Dakota Johnson, Desi Martinez, Laurie McNulty, and Kathy Nuanes.

Tracy says "Howdy"

New Executive Board Members

We are excited to announce newly elected officers for Angels Unaware.

Laurie McNulty (pictured) is president. She joined the board ten years ago to honor and take the place of her darling mother Ellie who was a long time AU volunteer and board member.

Musician extraordinaire Anthony Sacco is Vice-President. Anthony has been on the board for five years and his family attends camp.

Longtime family member Bernadette Berzoza is treasurer. She has been on the board for three years and wants to give back to an organization that was there for her when her children were young.

Teen representative Scarlett Strascina has been on the board for three years. Scarlett attended Camp as a child with her mother who volunteered and when Scarlett got old enough, she volunteered. This year, Scarlett joyfully accepted the secretary position because she wants Camp to continue.

The Camp Director is Barb Johnson, who founded Camp Ray-Ray and is named in memory of her adopted son Raymond who died at four years of age from an AIDS related illness.

Welcome new board member Rene' Koonce. Other at large board members include: Michelle Bills, Greg Isaac, and Dr. Colleen Foos.

Double your donation by donating any time during December (except for Dec. 1 and 6 which are double matched) and Nuanes Consulting will match donations up to $10,000 - so if you donate $100, it will actually be $200. If you donate $100 on World AIDS Day, it will actually be $300.

Please share this newsletter with family or friends who have children in the home and someone in the household is living with HIV. Encourage them to sign up for our newsletter so they can learn about Camp and other AU services.
