Winter-Spring 2022 Activity Guide
The 2022 Winter/Spring Activity Guide will be mailed to all WAWM residents in the next couple of weeks. There are many classes that are new to the winter-spring lineup and activities that are back by popular demand! We encourage you to try those classes you've been thinking of enrolling in. It's a great goal for the new year!
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for these important registration dates and get registered early for your programs to ensure you reserve a spot!
- Resident registration: Monday, November 29 at 8am
- Non-resident registration: Monday, December 13 at 8am

West Allis Christmas Parade is Back!
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2021
Time: 4:45 p.m.
The West Allis Christmas Parade is an annual holiday tradition and the premier night-time Christmas parade in Southeast Wisconsin! Enjoy marching bands and live performers, creative floats and vintage vehicles, meet elves, cartoon characters, and of course, wave to Santa Claus himself at the end of the parade!

Treats & Treasures
Trick or Treat! Thank you to our Sponsor, Waterstone Bank, and all the other local businesses and organizations that joined the WAWM RCS Department to make the 2nd Annual Treats & Treasures event another huge success. The weather was a beautiful autumn day for our 200 trick or treaters that allowed our friends to show off their wonderful costumes. We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween and we hope to see everyone next year!

The Young at Heart Program still has space available for the upcoming Cooking Demo with Plant Based Chef Amberlea Childs. On November 18th, we have the Healthy for the Holidays class where she will be making 3 holiday favorites that not only taste great, but are good for you! The favorites include: Cream Butternut Curry Soup, Spinach & Potatoes Au Gratin and Quinoa Salad with Orange Miso Dressing.

Happy Halloween From POUND Fitness Class
On Monday, October 25th, the POUND class taught by Becca Whiting thought it would be a great idea to come in their costumes for Halloween POUND. An awesome class was had by all!!

THANKSGIVING ZUMBA
On Monday, November 22, at Lane Intermediate School from 6:00-7:00 pm Zumba will be having an in person Thanksgiving Zumba class for the WAWM School District Backpack Program with instructors Jill Farina and Lloyd Pickart. Anyone is welcome to join but you must bring a non-perishable food item or items. (cereal, mac and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, etc.) Cash donations will also be accepted. THRILLER WORKSHOP
Our annual Thriller Workshop led by Dana Peck was held on Saturday, October 23rd. Many Zombies entered our building and learned the Thriller dance. After two hours of grueling work, the Zombies put it all together and loved it.

Weather is getting cooler and many of our little ones need time to play and have fun with other children. We have many adult/child classes geared for your little ones. The WAWM RCS Dept. Preschool had lots of Halloween fun this past week. They did many activities around Halloween and got to go trick or treating throughout the building to show off their cute costumes.

The Annual Chicago Shopping Trip is back and it’s celebrating its 75th year! Join us the Saturday after Black Friday to enjoy the holiday lights and the festive holiday lights and decorations. We will be dropped off in Chicago’s Theatre District just a few blocks away from the infamous Magnificent Shopping Mile. Make the day your own by shopping with friends and family, taking in a show or seeing one of many tourist attractions. Who’s joining us for another great year? | |
The Adaptive Recreation Program will be having a Movie Night at the Rec Center on Friday, December 3rd from 6-9 pm. We will play games, have some pizza and popcorn, and enjoy a great movie with friends! We will have a few different movies to choose from that we will vote on as a group!
