Winter/Spring Activity Guide

The WAWM RCS Department has been working hard at planning, organizing and getting ready for our upcoming Winter-Spring sessions! The Winter-Spring 2020 Activity Guides will be mailed to residents at the end of November! Here are some important registration dates you'll want to mark down in your calendar:
  • Monday, December 2 - Resident registration opens. This includes all mail in, dropbox, in person, phone in and online registrations!
  • Monday, December 16 - Non-Resident registration starts.
Quick tips and important information about registration:
  • Online registration is quick, easy, can be done at any time, anywhere and with no extra service fees! If you do not have an online account, go to wawmrec.com, click on "my account" or "register." Click on "need an account" and fill out the new account information. Once completed, submit and we will review your account and email your username and password.
  • Register early! Many classes can fill up in the first couple days of registration. Also, if we do not meet the minimum amount of participants needed to hold a class 5 days before the class starts, the WAWM RCS Department will need to cancel. So avoid disappointment of a full or cancelled class and register early!
  • Please review your receipt and account to make sure your household information is accurate and the activities you are enrolled in are correct. If your phone number, home address or email address needs to be updated, please contact our office at 414-604-4900 or wawmrec@wawmsd.org.

Please help us welcome Sam and Dan to our administrative team!

I am eager and excited to join the WAWM RCS team. As a Nathan Hale graduate, I've always had great relationships with the RCS staff. This year will be my seventh year working in recreation. I graduated from UW-Stout with a degree in Golf Enterprise Management and recently finished my Master's Degree from Winona State in Education Leadership-Sports Management. My wife and I recently had our first child, he is seven months old. In my limited free time, I try and golf as much as I can!

I have three years full time experience managing recreational programs such as aquatics, special events, and youth sports for municipal and non-profit organizations. I am very excited to be joining WAWM RCS and am looking forward to developing programs for adaptive and senior recreation while continuing to work with aquatics. In my free time I can often be found cheering on Chicago sports teams, watching movies, or spending time with friends and family.

Youth Enrichment

If your child enjoys the "cooking" in the kitchen, the WAWM RCS Department has a couple of cooking classes starting up this month.  Join Ramona Kaiser, West Allis-West Milwaukee's all-time favorite youth cooking instructor, for Kids Cuisine that begins on November 5th.  She will share recipes for delicious eats while teaching them the rules of the kitchen.

If you are looking for sweets for your child to bake, check out the Little Bakers.  These one-time offerings are great additions to Kids Cuisine.  Chocolate chip cookies, cake pops and red velvet cookies are sure to be a crowd pleaser, especially with the holidays around the corner.
